Senior Speech

My name is Carlton Glenn; I am a senior at Stephenson High School. I’ve been going to this school since I was in 9th grade. I’ve been in this area mostly my whole life, I’ve been to Pine Ridge, I’ve been to Stephenson Middle School, now I’m about to finish up at the high school. Thirteen years of schooling and its all about to come to an end. I have known mostly all my classmates since elementary school, and I’m realizing that I will never see half of my senior class again. Some I will miss, some I won’t miss so much, but I will wish them well in the future. I won’t be sad after graduation, because I will know some of my classmates will be moving on with their lives, and making something of their selves. The thing I will miss most about this school is Baseball, Girls, and lifting weights that got me through all four years of high school. Class was alright, but I really had fun doing everything else the school had to offer. The people I met at this high school are real characters, and their personality really differs from different people in the school. I will miss almost all my teachers here at Stephenson, I put the emphasis on almost. But I’ve enjoyed my four years at my Stephenson, and hopefully when my little brother gets up here he enjoys Stephenson more than I did.

May 22nd: The first day of the rest of my life

On this day May 22nd, I will start my new life as a man, I will no longer be in this protective place called high school. I will no longer be living with the people I have been with my whole life. I will be on my own fending for myself,if I make a mistake i'm not going to go running to mommy and daddy, I'm going to take responsibility an handle myself like a man. I'e been waiting for graduation since I stepped foot in this school ninth grade, its been a long four years. I came into high school thinking it was going to be hard, but now when I think about it, it was kind of easy. Iblew through high school without studying too much of anything, and still made good grades. I'm starting realize I cant do that in college, I'm going to have to take the time out and actually study. Come August I'm going to have to man up and be responsible as possible. I'm going to college playing baseball, and going to school, my load is goinhg to be heavy but I think I can handle it. Come May 22nd, 2009 this boy will become a man.

Senioritis: Had it since Last year

I dont know about the rest of yall but I,ve had senioritis since last year. I know it's the last few weeks and and I'm supposed to work harder but this senioritis is really starting to kick in. I'm doing as much work as i can but its really starting to take it's toll on me. Its not even in the middle of may yet and I already got it, I hope I dont have any major assignments coming up, I'm going to do them but I'm going to procrastinate as much as possible, and get it done at the last minute. Usually when people have senioritis, they dont do any work at all, I do my work i just wait til the last minute to get my done. At the the end of the year right now, I'm lazy but I'm not stupid now, I aint trying to fail any classes. If Ms. Moore will change my grade maybe i can relax a little bit more but until that time I unfortunately I still have work in the class.

P.S. Ms. Chillis Im sorry!!

High School Friends To Remmember

These are friends that I will remember for the rest of my life. Im just thinking about May 22, our graduation day. The first day of the rest of our lives. Im going to miss all of my friends when I go off to college. We made a promise that were going to keep in touch with each other, and Im going to to live up to that promise. When we head our seperate ways I will always be thinking about them, no matter how wrapped in my life I am, If we cant get together I'll call, If our schedules dont allow us us to talk, I'll text, If they dont have text, I'll hit them up on facebook or myspace, but I will stay in touch with them some how. No matter how much arguing I've have done with them I'll still have love for them, yes Cherrelle you too, no matter how much arguing we've done I'm still gonna miss you. I'm going to miss everybody......well almost everybody.

Prom was live

I really enjoyed myself at prom, it was a night to remember. The plans before the prom that we had to go to Pappadeux's was cancelled because we didn't make it to the restaurant on time to get our reserved table. My date took a whole hour longer to get ready, but the 30 minute photshoot's at everybodies house didn't help either. We end up going to Red Lobster to eat dinner, my date ordered one of the expensive meals on the menu, but it was cool, I didnt eat anything but Chicken fingers. We got to the prom about 8:30, everyboby was just rolling in. The dancing was the best part of the prom, I alot of lap dances, and I gave alot of lap dances, I was having to much fun. After the prom me and Geoff went to Club Fuzion, The party was alright, but I wanted to head back to the prom, thats where the party was at. All in alll I enjoyed myself and i'm glad I came with friends.

High School Relationships

I wouldn't say high schoool relationships are piontless, but in the ennd your just setting your self up for failure. Most high school kids aren't ready for serious relationships, because kids play games and arent't ready for the heart break that comes with it. I hear from some of these kids at the school, saying that there in love, most of everybody at this school is 14- 18, you dont know what love is. I've heard people say I love you then they would break up the next day, and thats love, please. Most of the boys at this school say I love you to these girls because they feel obligated to do so. There are alot of girls and boys that say I love you but very few of them mean it. I know if I told a girl I loved her I'd be lying through my teeth. It's a waste of my time going out with a girl especially now if were going to go to different colleges anyway, theres no point. I'd say that 90% of high school relationships is lust not love and believe me they are totally differnt things.

This is some bull

The New York Post put out a cartoon with two police officers shot a monkey(The monkey is supposed to be Barack Obama), after they shot the monkey the police said "They'll have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill." These writers at the new york post is trippin hared, that is some racist stuff, and I'm not with that at all. I dont know how the cartoon even left the presses, something has to be done about that. If I was Obama I'd be putting hits out on people right about now, Obama didn't do anything to knowbody he dosen't deserve that. I dont like that, What do you you think about that.

Chris Brown Beatdown

It was heard that 19 year R&B Artist Chris Brown alledgedly be is his girlfriend Reggae artist Rihanna. the two never made it to Grammy's on sunday night because of the incident. Its amazing how fast your career can be taken away from you like that, if you dont watch what your doing. These stars have to remeber that there always in the public eye, and they never know who is watching them. Chris Brown's bail was set at $50,000, he was released the next day. Rihanna was said to have facial bruises that you could clearly see. I dont know what drove him to hit Rihanna like that but it must of been something serious. It couldnt have been any old argument it had to be crucial. We'll see what the ending is of this so called fairytale relationship.

Women Insecurities

One of the flaws that bother me the most about women is they are so needy and they always need attention from somebody or else they'll start throwin a fit. I'm speaking the truth, one of my girl friends acts the same way when she gets no attention she takes it out her frustration on the next boy that tries to talk. All women in general are "unstable creatures", they let their emotion get the best of them and they cant think clearly when they think with emotions. I'm not sayin all women need attention but 90% of them do. Women think if thier boyfriend dosent devote his time entirely to her she will be insecure and think that he is cheating on her. Women want to know where you at, at all times, you have to check in with your girl, man please, girls need to be on a need to know basis, I'll tell you something when you need to know.If the boyfriend was to go out to the movies, she wants to know what day your going, who your going with, and if thers any girls with you. If he didnt tell her whre he was going and she found out about it she would throw a fit. Trust me I love women but they are crazy. All yaw girls have a little left-eye in you. Now tell me women aint crazy(women in picture), dont worry I'll wait............lord knows you'll burn a dude house down if he cheated on you, if not his house, you'll burn anything of his you can get your hands on.

Barack Obama's Inauguration

The presidential inauguration is an event that's about as close to a royal ceromony as American government gets. It's a day filled with ceremony, guards, salutes, parades, speeches, a party that's actually still called a "ball". This inauguration will bring change to not just the United States but the whole world. I also think we are thankful enough to get a president that cares more about his own country than his own well-being. I cant say the same for our last president, but im not naming any names, George bush; excuse me sorry that slipped out. The historic nature of Barack Obama's presidency, not to mention his oratorical abilities to speak and move the crowd, guarantees that his inauguration on January 20, 2009, this inauguration will be recorded in history. This is the type of story that I would share with my kids one day. Barack Obama is now officially the President of the United States. Throughout all the things that my momma saw throughout her lifetime she never thought there would be an African American in office. Its a reality that everybody in the world is still trying to cope with, even me. I wish I could have been at the inauguration, I know for everyone that went it was a life changing experience.and i was very impressed on how Barack Obama knew all of the text when he wass sworn in, that tells me barack obama was on his stuff. He's going to be about business these next 8 years, I hope.
